September 2024: A New CanSat Design Challenge Begins!

The CanSat Design Challenge is ready to begin! Are you interested in building a small satellite and launching it on a science mission? Then the CanSat Design Challenge is for you!

In the CanSat Design Challenge, teams students design a “satellite” which is the size of a pop can. The CanSat’s mission is to record the air pressure and temperature every second, as well as include another experiment of the team’s choosing. The CanSat is launched by high-powered amateur rockets (or carried by a drone) to a height of up to one kilometer, and conducts its experiments as it descends.
